Audition for Cupcake Wars

I just had to share this video my mom and I made as an audition tape for Cupcake Wars, Season 8. My mom got a call from a Cupcake Wars casting associate about 2 weeks ago asking her to submit a video with her assistant for the show. Since we get along so well (most of the time), she decided if she was going to get chosen to go to L.A., she wanted take me, so here is our audition. We are a bit silly, but from what we gather they are looking for personality for the show. We are excited and really hope to be picked!

Local story on real estate broker Emily Moreland

Local story on real estate broker Emily Moreland

Here is a story I wrote last month for Community Impact Newspaper – Lake Travis/Westlake edition. This long-time real estate broker established her own real estate company in West Austin almost 30 years ago. I interviewed her at a home for sale in Westlake and learned a lot about why she went into real estate and how she grew her business to about 75 agents. She was a very lovely lady and gave off a sincere attitude as well as having a lot of wisdom. In addition to her business she also runs the family ranch, located near Waco. One of the reasons I love to write is meeting new people and learning and sharing their stories, so this article was successful by my standards!

My favorite book character growing up

In this video I tell about my favorite character featured in a book from my childhood. We have approved the proof for our children’s book “Jump Little Cake, Jump!” and will have the books in our hands in about a month. We decided to reflect on some of our favorite childhood book memories while hoping that our book will inspire new ones for others. Please leave a comment letting me know who your favorite character from a book was when you were a child.
